BIOGRAPHY: Ivan attended schools in Cardston. He was better known to all his
friends and family by his nickname "Pete". During his youth, Ivan was an
ardent boxer, winning medals in competitions in Southern Alberta. He also
taught boxing at the Cardston schools. With the coming of war, Ivan was
painting airport hangars which were being constructed at several locations
around the province and he decided in 1940 to move his family from Cardston to
Calgary.
