414. Marguerite Annie Hornby⁵⁴⁴ was born on 25 September 1878. She died on 6 September 1978 at the age of 99 in Of Mood River, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She was the mother of Edgar Vernon Christian, who died in the Barren Lands of Canada, with his first cousin, John Hornby (q.v.), in 1927. Mrs Christian lived latterly at Little Furlong, Laines Road, Steyning, Sussex.

Marguerite Annie Hornby and Lt. Col. William Francis Christian D. S. O. R. A. were married on 29 September 1900. Lt. Col. William Francis Christian D. S. O. R. A.⁵⁴⁴, son of George Arnold Christian and Elizabeth McGowan, was born on 4 September 1879. He died on 14 August 1954 at the age of 74 in England. of Fleet, Hants., Elder son. Served in Gt. War (despatches three times, Order of Leopold of Belgium, Croix de Guerre), and raised 91st. Siege Battn., 1916.
