268. John Hornby^48,379 was born on 2 December 1832 at Raikes Hall in Blackburn, Lancashire, England.⁵³⁰ He died on 15 October 1901 at the age of 68 in Bedford, Bedfordshire, England. He was buried after 15 October 1901 in Bedford, Bedfordshire, England. Barrister at Law. Educated at Harrow (Head of School) and Trinity College, Cambridge. After giving up the Bar, Mr. Hornby travelled extensively in Europe, Turkey and Egypt. He then settled for some time, before his marriage, in the Isle of Skye, and subsequently lived for a short time on the Scottish mainland. Thereafter, he moved for five years to Lezayre, Ramsey, Isle of Man, finally settling in Bedford.
